Artist Spotlight - "Rich Graham"
Rich Graham's Bio:
"Im Biggie before Diddy/Rocky before Micky/Run before Russell/Its only me and my hustle"
Its lyrics like these that are the voice of new up and coming hip hop artist,
Rich Graham. As a Georgia transplant originally from New Jersey, Graham
has made a name for himself in the southern music Mecca that is
Atlanta by grinding and putting in the hard work. As an Atlanta transplant
via Willingboro, New Jersey, Rich Graham has been able to make a
name for himself in the southern music Mecca and now looks forward to
taking it worldwide. "I had a really dope record called Hate The Game which
featured Big Kuntry King from T.I.s crew PSC and was produced by DJ Toomp" states Rich Graham. "That record got me my name in Atlanta."
People who don't know how much work he has put in on the underground circuit for years may think that things come easily for Graham but he says that is far from the truth. His relentless grind has already earned the title of tag team champion of the Atlanta-based MC Wars and has been the face of the Welcome to Hustleville Concert Series for three years, along with the Atlantis Music Conference. As an independent who has already opened for T.I. and has even had songwriting success through his co-penning of the song, Go Girl, that Pitbull eventually released as a single with Trina and David Rush, and not to mention the record, Coolest Cat that he wrote for another artist and was used in the movie "The Comebacks", Rich Graham has a lot to offer on both sides of the fence. His "Hater How Are You" campaign captivated the southeast creating a new phrase anda t-shirt sensation and he combined that with another hit single and video directed by Rock Jacobs. With his hit single, Looking For You produced by and featuring Soundz, who produced the Love in the Club remix with Usher, Beyonce, and Lil Wayne: he's now gaining attention from the females and going hard making everyone pay attention.
Currently promoting the MoneyGraham 1.5 CD http://www.sendspace.com/file/myhs1p hosted by the DJ MLK and The Fleet DJs and already working on his EP Hosted by DJ Bigga Rankin, Graham now looks forward to taking his music from the streets all across the globe. I cant say there were certain events in particular that inspired me as an artist, states Graham. Just my life itself has always been interesting.
Graham grew up loving artists like Biggie, Jay-Z, Nas, Bootcamp Click, Snoop, Outkast, The Lox, State Property, Eminem, Big Pun and Big L. When he moved to Atlanta he became a DJ and was totally immersed in the southern music scene. He became a fan of T.I., Killer Mike, UGK, 8Ball and MJG, Ludacris and more. Because of these influences, he compares his music to the classic records made by these artists. He describes his style as east coast lyricism with a down south bounce. He says he is not competing with his peers. He wants to compete with his influences.
With an addictive catch phrase, KLICK KLACK AYO, a lyrical style that is fly, cool, deep, witty and very cocky, mixed with dope lines that will catch your ear, Graham is everything the hip hop world has been missing.
